  • By completing the application process for a Lourdes Award, you will be sharing your personal information with us.
  • This information is needed to:
    • Evaluate your proposal.
    • Assess your award.
    • Process and pay your award if you are successful.
    • Contact you after your return regarding further matters concerning your pilgrimage experience.
  • You must read and agree to the following Data Protection statement before proceeding:
    • Your consent to share your personal data on these terms is required to process your application.

Data Protection Statement

  • Purpose of Data Collection and Usage:
    • The Bursary Fund database stores your personal information to:
      • Receive and manage your request for financial support.
      • Evaluate and assess the award.
      • Pay the award if you are successful.
    • Your data may be used after your pilgrimage to:
      • Contact you for support for our future operations.
      • Use your pilgrimage details and report for publicity purposes.
  • Data Retention:
    • We will retain your data for at least 2 years.
  • Data Sharing:
    • We may share your information with selected members of the Catenian Association for:
      • Arranging a presentation to pay any awarded grant.
      • Management purposes.
    • Both the Catenian Bursary Fund Limited and the Catenian Association Limited comply with the General Data Protection Regulations (May 2018), ensuring that:
      • Data is relevant, accurate, and not excessive.
      • Data is fairly and lawfully processed.
      • Data is held for defined purposes.
      • Data is accurate and up to date.
      • Data is not kept for longer than necessary.
      • Data is processed in line with your rights.
      • Data is secure.
  • Data Security and Usage:
    • All data stored in our database will be treated in accordance with these principles.
    • We will never sell or misuse any personal data.
    • Data will only be used to support the development of Catholic youth worldwide.
    • Routine correspondence will be established with your formal agreement.
    • You may opt out of this agreement at any time, but this will prevent us from considering your application further.
